What Has Clinton Done about Climate Change while in Office?
During her years representing New York state in the U.S. Senate (2001 to the present), Hillary Clinton has earned a 90 percent lifetime voting score from the League of Conservation Voters. While in office, Hillary introduced
the Strategic Energy Fund in Congress that would invest $50 billion
into research, development, and deployment of renewable energy, energy
efficiency, clean coal technology, ethanol and other homegrown
biofuels, and more. Monies for the fund would be raised by allowing oil
companies to either invest in renewable energy themselves or pay into
the fund. Hillary gave a speach on November 5, 2007 regarding her positon on energy and climate change. Read the text of that speach.
Watch Clinton explain her positions on climate change and energy issues at the first ever presidential candidate forum - "Global Warming and America's Energy Future" - focusing on energy and climate change held on Nov. 17, 2007 in Los Angeles.
